DETAILED ENGINEERING EVALUATION TOOLS FROM SESOCThe Structural Engineering Society is formed as a body to promote the science, art and practice of structural engineering and to ensure the advancement and dissemination of knowledge relating to structural engineering. After the Christchurch earthquake they developed a set of Guidelines for the preparation of a Detailed Engineering Evaluation of seismic affected buildings, including a Standardized Report Form as an excel spreadsheet. In light of recent events we thought it useful to bring this information to all.
The guidance is intended for structural and geotechnical engineers and local authorities in the assessment of earthquake affected nonresidential buildings. The purpose of the assessment is primarily to assist in determining whether buildings should be occupied.
Since being prepared for Christchurch the document has undergone significant further revision to become more comprehensive in order to be applied more broadly than the Canterbury earthquake recovery. Our thanks to Sesoc for their kind permission to re-post these links
